Ready-made plans
Day plans and multi-day routes, with the order already worked out.
- Open Port Time-Slip: Where Korea First Opened60–75 min from Seoul Station on Line 1, no transfer. 🔴 Every museum and exhibition hall here is **closed Mondays** (or the next Tuesday if Monday is a holiday) — on a Monday, rebuild the day around outdoor stops only: Jayu Park, the Qing-Japanese Settlement stairs, the streets. On those stairs the lanterns are Chinese on the left and Japanese on the right — two countries in one frame.
- Chinatown, the Birthplace of Jjajangmyeon & Fairy Tale VillageRight across from Incheon Station Exit 1 — you can't miss the start. The Jajangmyeon Museum is **closed Mondays**. Weekends and Chinese holidays get packed at the gate; a weekday morning is calmest. Fairy Tale Village is free but people actually live there — don't photograph front doors.
- Wolmido Retro Seaside & the Sea TrainThe amusement park has no entry fee, so you can ride one thing or nothing at all. The sea train runs until 6pm on weekdays and 9pm on weekends — go on a weekend for the night view. Sea wind makes winter feel far colder here than in the city.
- Songdo: the City Built on Reclaimed Tidal FlatsThe opposite of Seoul's old narrow alleys — a city built from scratch. The G-Tower observatory is free but **closed Mondays**, and opens at 1pm on weekends. Water taxis are cancelled in bad weather, so check the same day. There's little shade — sunset beats midday in summer.
- Ganghwa Island: From Bronze Age Dolmens to a View of North KoreaSee North Korea for real without buying a DMZ tour (small fee at the Peace Observatory). About 1h45m by express bus from Sinchon — this takes the whole day. 🔴 Buses inside the island are infrequent, so **plan 2–3 stops, not more**. Check the last bus before you go.
- West Sea Sunset: the Sun Dropping into the OceanThe simplest reason Incheon differs from Seoul: here the sun sets into the sea. The beach season is summer-only but the sunset works year-round. Winter sunset runs from about 17:15 in December to about 18:10 by mid-February — in midwinter leave by 3pm and check the last train back.
