What is it?

Korea's own birth chart. A star sign comes from one date; your Saju is read from your year, your month, your day — and your birth hour, if you know it. MBTI is four letters you answered yourself; this is the part your birth date answered for you.

Why the Chinese characters?

Each part of your birth date turns into two Chinese characters — the same ones a reader in Hongdae writes on paper before they start talking. The Korean sound sits under every character, so you can read your own chart without knowing any Chinese.

Do I have to believe in it?

No. Some people go for fun, some go before making a decision, and plenty of Koreans do both. The characters aren't random — they're calculated from the Korean seasonal calendar, down to the minute each season turns. What they mean is yours to take or leave.
