From the island's north coast you look across the Yesong River at North Korean land, roughly 2.3 km away. Inside the building are telescopes and Korean War exhibits. You pass a Civilian Control Line checkpoint to get here. Carry your passport or alien registration card, and do not photograph the checkpoint. Open 09:00-18:00 from March to November, and 09:00-17:00 from December to February. It sits at the far northern tip, well away from Ganghwa-eup. Plan on a long county bus ride or a taxi each way.
