Can I leave Incheon Airport during a layover?
Yes, if your passport lets you enter Korea. Leaving the airport means going through immigration. Travelers from countries on the K-ETA temporary exemption, including the US, can enter without a K-ETA until December 31, 2026 (KST). Everyone else needs a visa or a K-ETA, so check the K-ETA site before you fly.
How long does it take from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station?
The AREX express train takes about 43 minutes from Terminal 1 and 51 minutes from Terminal 2. The adult fare is 13,000 won.
Is there a transit tour at Incheon Airport?
Yes. It is for layovers of 24 hours or less. Bring your passport and the boarding passes for both flights, and reach the registration desk at least 30 minutes before the tour starts. Terminal 1: 1st floor after immigration, near gates 1 and 2, desks 19 and 20. Terminal 2: 1st floor across from Exit 4, desks 5 and 6. The airport says programs can change without notice, so call first: T1 +82-32-741-3139, T2 +82-32-741-0060.
When should I be back at the airport?
Incheon Airport gives no fixed number for this. Its departure guide asks you to be at the gate 30 to 40 minutes before boarding, and once you pass departure immigration you cannot go back out. Your airline sets its own check-in closing time, so check it on your ticket.
