Gangneung old town and Anmok at sunset
강릉 구도심과 해 질 녘 안목
Day course · 8 stops · Gangwon East Coast
Start with kkomak bibimbap and walk the old Myeongju-dong alleys. Spend the late afternoon at a café by the sea in Anmok, then come back to Jungang Market and Wolhwa Street for the evening.
[Gangneung Station] Leave your bags in the lockers at Gangneung Station or at your hotel's front desk and travel light. [Eomjine] At weekends the wait can pass 2 hours, so take a number ticket first. One plate serves 2 or 3, so it's best shared with friends. [Daedohobu Office] Sources disagree on which day it closes, so check before you go. If it's shut, start with the Myeongju-dong alleys next door. [Anmok] Get there about two hours before sunset, walk the beach, then sit in a café. Window seats go fast on weekend afternoons, and it's even busier during the coffee festival in late October. [Jungang Market] It's a covered market, so rain is fine. Many stalls close early in the evening, and some take cash only. [Wolhwa Street night market] In 2026 it runs on Fridays and Saturdays 18:00 to 23:00 from May to 31 October, and it's off when it rains. On other nights you can still walk the path built on the old railway line. Checked Oct 2026. [Budnamu Brewery] At weekends the seats fill as soon as it opens. Staff may check your age when you order, so bring your passport or residence card.
