The motto 以校爲家 事必歸正 comes from founder Shin Ik-hee. Alumni carved it on a monument by the Yongduri statue.
Yongduri is the university statue, standing by a fountain. Stairs beside it lead up to the Garden of Sungkok, which has seasonal flowers, benches and a view over much of the campus.
Kookmin's spring festival, Daedongje, is held in May. In 2017 it had department pubs, bands on two nights and a student talent show.
