Jeonjucheon in the morning and Nambu Market

아침 전주천과 남부시장

Day course · 8 stops · Jeonju

Have bean sprout soup inside Nambu Market for breakfast, then walk along the Jeonjucheon to the National Intangible Heritage Center before the day crowds arrive. Back in the old downtown, see Jeolla Gamyeong and have bibimbap for lunch, then wander Gaekridan-gil and pick up choco pies on the way to the station.

[Breakfast at Nambu Market] Hyundaeok serves bean sprout soup at a small counter inside the market, and there's a line on weekend mornings. Stalls keep their own hours, and the market is covered, so rain is no problem. [Jeonjucheon walk] The path along the stream runs right beside the Hanok Village and is best in the morning before the day crowds. Cross Namcheongyo Bridge to reach the National Intangible Heritage Center. Silver grass lines the banks in October and November. [Intangible Heritage Center] Open 09:30 to 17:30, closed on Mondays and 1 January. Checked Oct 2026. The exhibitions are free and indoors, so it works on a rainy day. [Bibimbap] Gajok Hoegwan opens at 10:30 and the lunch line is long, so it's calmer before 11:00 or after 14:00. Checked Oct 2026. [Gaekridan-gil] News reports since 2024 mention more empty shopfronts, so check that the place you want is still open. [Choco pies] PNB Pungnyeon Bakery is a separate company from Pungnyeon Jegwa, which has a similar name. There's also a PNB shop inside Jeonju Station, so you can buy them just before the train. [Departure day] This plan has you on the 17:56 KTX from Jeonju Station to Yongsan, and there are trains at 17:05 and 19:28 either side. From Friday to Sunday the last train to Suseo leaves at 15:55, which is too early for this plan. These are weekday times and weekends may differ, so check before you go. The bus from town to the station takes about 25 minutes, so leave an hour before your train. [If it rains] Skip the stream path and spend longer at the National Intangible Heritage Center. Nambu Market is covered, so go as planned. [Seasons] During the Jeonju International Film Festival from late April to early May, Film Street and Gaekridan-gil get crowded and rooms fill fast. In July and August, walk early and spend midday indoors.
