Ojukheon, Gyeongpo and Chodang tofu

[From Gangneung Station] Bus 202 from the stop across from Gangneung Station goes to Ojukheon. It comes once or twice an hour, so check the times before you go. A taxi takes about 10 minutes. [Ojukheon] Open all year, last entry 17:00. On New Year's Day and on the days of Seollal and Chuseok the indoor exhibition halls close. Checked Oct 2026. [Seongyojang] About 18 minutes on foot from Ojukheon. From November to February it closes at 17:00, and it's closed on Seollal and Chuseok. Checked Oct 2026. [Gyeongpo Lake] The loop is 4.3 km, about an hour on foot. Add it when you have time to spare, and expect little shade at midday in summer. [Chodang] Some of the best-known tofu places close on Wednesdays. Go a little after the lunch rush and the lines are shorter. [Anmok] About 10 minutes by taxi from Gangmun or Chodang. Window seats go fast on weekend afternoons, and it's even busier during the coffee festival in late October. [Seasons] Plum blossoms come out at Seongyojang in March and cherry blossoms line Gyeongpo Lake in early April. Gyeongpo Beach opens for swimming only in July and August, and there are no lifeguards the rest of the year, so stay out of the water. [On to Sokcho] Buses to Sokcho leave from Gangneung Intercity Bus Terminal in Hongje-dong. There's no direct bus from Gangneung Station. The ride takes 1 hour to about 1 hour 45 minutes, and the last bus leaves around 21:00, so check before you go.
