MNU's emblem since 1990 shows a sun rising from the sea. The two Ms inside stand for Mokpo and together look like an open book, with the founding year 1946 under them.
The Dorim campus is in Cheonggye-myeon, Muan County. MNU has other campuses in Damyang, Mokpo and Namak, and bus 200 links Mokpo Station with the main gate.
From 1979 to 1989 the emblem put the character 木 from Mokpo (木浦) inside a U for university. In 1978 the junior college used a scroll marked 木大 wrapped around a torch.
