From Nami Island to sunset on Jarasum

[From Gapyeong Station] This plan starts with the 07:51 ITX-Cheongchun from Yongsan, which reaches Gapyeong around 08:50. Checked Oct 2026. The Nami Island wharf is a 20-minute walk or about 5 minutes by taxi. In a map app, search 남이섬 선착장 (Nami Island wharf), because plain 남이섬 sends you to the island side in Chuncheon. [Nami Island] The island is flat and a full loop is about 6 km, around two hours on foot. The Metasequoia Lane is a 3-minute walk from the ferry. Early morning is the quietest time, before the tour groups arrive. The Songpa Ginkgo Lane turns yellow in early to mid November. [Circular bus] Gapyeong's circular tourist bus, line A, runs from Nami to Petite France and back toward Jarasum. Buy the day pass from the driver when you get on. It doesn't run on Wednesdays unless the day is a public holiday, so take a taxi then. On weekends and holidays traffic can make it late, and the last bus from Petite France toward Gapyeong Station leaves around 18:00. The timetable is on gptour.go.kr, so check it before you go. [Petite France and Italian Village] The two are joined on foot, and three hours covers both. Closing time can come earlier with the season or the weather, so ask at the ticket booth if you arrive late. Italian Village is mostly indoor exhibits, so give it more time when it rains. [Jarasum] It's about a 15-minute walk from Gapyeong Station, so you can watch the sunset and walk straight to the train. During the Jarasum Jazz Festival in October the whole island turns into a ticketed venue. From November to February the flower beds are bare and it gets dark early, so skip it and head to the station. Ihwawon greenhouse is closed on Mondays, and last entry is 17:30 from March to October and 16:30 from November to February. Checked Oct 2026. The sunset bus gets there after that, so take an earlier bus if you want to see it. [Heading back] The evening ITX-Cheongchun to Seoul leaves Gapyeong at 20:02 on weekdays and 20:01 on weekends and holidays. On a weekday, missing the 20:02 means 90 minutes until the next one. Checked Oct 2026. If you're staying in Chuncheon, it's 20 to 28 minutes from Gapyeong by ITX-Cheongchun or the Gyeongchun Line subway. [Seasons] Nami's autumn leaves peak from mid October to early November, and weekend ITX seats sell out days ahead then, so book early. From December to February the Metasequoia Lane is under snow, and mornings can drop below minus 10°C. July and August bring the most rain.
