Chuncheon's lakes and Dakgalbi Street

[Soyanggang Skywalk] It's closed on Tuesdays. One notice says it opens every day, so check ahead if you're going on a Tuesday, and start at Gongjicheon if it's shut. It also closes in rain, snow or strong wind, and high heels aren't allowed on the glass floor. [Ethiopian Veterans Memorial] Closed on Mondays and open 09:00 to 18:00. Checked Oct 2026. It takes about 40 minutes, and Ethiopia Bet across the street is a coffee house that opened in 1968. [Cable car] The Samaksan Lake Cable Car crosses Uiamho Lake and takes about 40 minutes there and back. It stops in strong wind and closes on its monthly safety inspection days, so check the dates before you go. Ride in the late afternoon to watch the sun go down over the lake. [Uiam Skywalk] A glass walkway over the lake. It closes at 18:00, so go straight there from the cable car. It's a 15-minute walk along the shore from the Songam Sports Town side. It's shut for winter from mid November to mid March, so ride only the cable car then. [Dakgalbi] Most places on Dakgalbi Street take orders from two portions, so you may be turned away on your own. If you're solo, have makguksu instead. There are no halal options. [Back to Seoul] This plan assumes the ITX-Cheongchun leaving Chuncheon Station around 21:10. On weekdays the last one leaves around 22:14, and both stop at Namchuncheon too. The last bus to Dong Seoul leaves Chuncheon Intercity Bus Terminal, across from Namchuncheon Station, around 22:40. Weekend times differ and seats fill fast, so check before you go and book ahead. [Seasons] Cherry blossoms line Gongjicheon in early April, and weekends get busy. On a Sunday around the last week of October, the Chuncheon Marathon closes the roads by Gongjicheon and Uiamho Lake in the morning. From November to February mornings fall below freezing and the river wind is cold.
