Day course · 8 stops · Gyeongju
Bulguksa and Seokguram in the morning, then the glasshouse garden and the lakeside at Bomun in the afternoon. Back in town for makgeolli in the evening, with the night market first on a Friday or Saturday.
[Bulguksa] About 40 minutes from downtown on bus 10 or 11. Go early to stay ahead of the school groups. The main hall is due for about two years of repairs from late 2026, so how much of it you can see may change. [Bus 12] Bus 12 takes you up from Bulguksa to Seokguram. It doesn't come often and the last bus changes with the season, so check the timetable before you head up. [Getting to Bomun] Back down at Bulguksa, bus 11 runs through Bomun on its way to town. Get off at Bomun, then take the 11 again into town in the evening. Check bus times before you go. [Mondays] Donggungwon closes on Mondays, or the next day when Monday is a public holiday. The bird park and the lake stay open, and for Wooyang Museum check the opening days before you go. [Night market] Open on Friday and Saturday evenings. Other days vary by season and by source, so check before you go. [Bonjeon Makpo] You must be 19 or over, and you have to order food with your drinks. [Staying in Bomun] The last bus 10 from town to Bomun leaves around 21:40, and after that it's a taxi. Check the time before you go. [If it rains] Skip the lake and spend the time indoors at Donggungwon and the bird park. [Seasons] Cherry blossoms ring Bomun Lake from late March to early April. On the first Saturday of April a cherry blossom marathon closes roads around Bomun in the morning.
