Hanbok, Tomb Mounds, and Woljeonggyo After Dark

한복 입고 걷는 황리단길·대릉원, 밤엔 월정교

Day course · 5 stops · Gyeongju

What actually breaks this course isn't closing days — it's where you RETURN the hanbok. Most rental shops are in Hwangnidan-gil and Woljeonggyo bridge is a 20-min walk south, so in hanbok you must walk back to return it before heading to the station. Renting at Gyochon village instead (Gyochon Uisangsil, right next to the bridge) erases that walk entirely. Shops: Doldamgil (closed Tue, returns by 19:00/19:30, Silla-style, pricier), Gyeongju Hanbokpan (closed Thu, to 18:00/19:00); for NIGHT wear use Hanbok Nadeuri only (09:30-21:00, no closing days, night rental; day pass 30,000 won) — Kkotgil closes 18:50 and needs arrival before 3pm. Booking runs on Instagram DM/Naver; if Korean is a barrier use the WAUG/Interpark listings for Nadeuri but confirm night return directly (old address/hours linger on listing pages). Lighting decides the order: the bridge lights run sunset to 22:00, and Gyeongju sunset swings 19:45 (late Jun) to 17:10 (early Dec). Nov-Feb: put Woljeonggyo FIRST at 17:30 in hanbok and return it by 19:00 — the only season that works in hanbok. Mar-Oct, pick one: (a) photos first — stretch the cafe to 19:30, see the bridge 20:00-20:30, walk back and return before 21:00, book the 22:03 train; or (b) home first — return the hanbok at the cafe stage and visit the bridge in your own clothes, then taxi. The sites themselves are trap-free: Daereungwon 09:00-22:00 free (Cheonmachong interior 3,000 won), Cheomseongdae free (lights to 21:00 in winter), Woljeonggyo free (pavilion exhibits to 20:00) — nothing closes Mondays. The flower field by Cheomseongdae: canola in April, zinnias Jul-Aug, pink muhly/cosmos Sep-Oct, bare earth Nov-Mar. Trains: the 21:35 (Seoul 23:49) is the realistic last for catching the subway home — and Line 4 southbound from Seoul Station (last 23:51) is tight even then; the 22:03/22:38 mean night bus or taxi in Seoul. Buses 710/711 toward the station pass too late for the 21:35 and there are no night buses — taxi ~20km, 17-20,000 won, 25 min; call KakaoT (English UI) by 20:40, plus 10 min at night. From 1 Sep 2026 the KTX-SRT merger revises timetables/fares — recheck in Korail+.
